One Lucky Mama

I could not have asked for a more lovely Mother's Day.
These are the sweet things I woke up to.

After church we took a picnic lunch that Pops had put together to Balboa Park.

We just relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful day.

Lots of cuddles on the blanket.

This little game went on for a while.  Annie would stick the wine cork in Pop's mouth, he would blow it out, and she would go get it...and repeat.  She thought it was hilarious.

The water lily pond.

Our walk towards the fountain.

We always end up heading over there when at the park, because it's such a hit with The Little Pie.

Such Water Buddies!

Mommy scooped her up, almost soaked.

Then we walked to the Spanish Village.

Lots of artists out with their work this time of year.
Watching people make glass art.

Beautiful market.

Then it was time to head home.
Pops made mussels for dinner!

I am one Lucky Mama.

May the 4th be With You!

Every year, on the eve of Cinco de Mayo we celebrate the birth of our beloved Pops.
As requested, we had a mellow family day, with no agenda.  Just the three of us.

We started out the day trying out a new restaurant in   LaJolla.
A quirky and charming beach cottage with great food.

Awesome.

Annie is showing her see-food.

After breakfast we took a nice long stroll to enjoy the beautiful day.

It's wonderful what you see, when you stop and take it all in.

This is the spot where he asked me to marry him almost twenty years ago.
This is just cool.    And couldn't resist snapping a shot of this happy lady.  Made me want to meet the owner of this car, making passers by smile.

Heading towards the sea lions.

My Water Babies watching the waves crash over the rocks...

With these Water Babies.

Such a nice time together.

On our walk back we spotted these gulls, and I think the one the seems to be hiding is actually baby sitting.

Saying hello.

Time for gelatto!

Time for loves.

And time to go home.

When I asked Pops what he wanted to do for dinner, he said that he wanted to go HOME, and grill steak...
and have cake!
